Kaskaskia College is hosting the NAEMT Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Provider Course, a nationally recognized, evidence-based trauma education program designed for prehospital emergency care providers at both Basic and Advanced levels.
PHTLS emphasizes critical thinking, rapid trauma assessment, and sound clinical decision-making to improve patient outcomes in the prehospital environment. The course is developed in partnership with the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma.

• Primary and secondary trauma assessment
• Scene size-up and provider safety
• Airway, breathing, and ventilation management
• Hemorrhage control and shock management
• Spinal motion restriction and immobilization
• Multisystem trauma care
• Patient stabilization and transport considerations

• EMRs and EMT-Basics
• EMT-Advanced providers
• Paramedics
• Nurses and clinicians involved in prehospital care
• Fire, police, and rescue personnel
