Kaskaskia College is hosting the International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) Provider Course, a nationally recognized, evidence-based trauma education program designed for emergency care providers at both Basic and Advanced levels.
ITLS blends classroom instruction with hands-on skills and realistic scenarios to prepare participants to rapidly identify and manage life-threatening traumatic injuries across a wide range of patient populations.
🩺 Key Topics Include:
• Trauma scene size-up and safety
• Systematic trauma patient assessment
• Hemorrhage control and shock management
• Airway and ventilation interventions
• Management of traumatic cardiac arrest
• Chest, abdominal, and extremity injuries
• Spinal column and spinal cord trauma
• Special considerations (burns, pediatric, geriatric, pregnancy)
• Mass casualty incident response
👥 Who Should Attend:
• EMT-Basic and First Responders
• Advanced EMTs and Paramedics
• Trauma Nurses and Emergency Department staff
• Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants
• Other prehospital or hospital clinicians involved in trauma care
📚 Continuing Education:
✔ Eligible for continuing education hours (per state and agency guidelines)
✔ ITLS Provider certification card issued upon successful completion
