Description
A group of Buddhist monks, accompanied by their loyal dog Aloka, are walking across the United States on a powerful journey dedicated to peace, compassion, and loving kindness.
Their Walk for Peace began on October 26, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, and will span approximately 2,300 miles on foot, passing through 10 U.S. states and visiting state capitols along the way before reaching Washington, DC.
On Saturday, January 24, they are expected to walk through Raleigh.
This event is an informal community gathering for anyone who would like to:
• Welcome the monks as they pass through Raleigh
• Walk alongside them for a portion of the route
• Observe quietly or offer respectful support
• Gather afterward if time and location allow
