Join us for Repair Café, a free, hands-on community repair event where neighbors come together to fix broken household items, learn basic DIY repair skills, and keep usable items out of the landfill.
This is a welcoming, collaborative space where you’ll work side by side with experienced volunteer repair coaches who will help guide the repair process when possible. No experience needed, just bring your curiosity and your broken items.
🛠️ How it works
Bring your broken household items and stay with them while volunteers help you troubleshoot and repair them. Repair Café is a do-it-together experience, not a drop-off service.
🧰 What we repair
Our volunteers have experience across many types of household repairs and bring tools to help get the job done. Some replacement parts may be available, but not all. If a specialty part is needed, we may ask you to bring it back to a future Repair Café event once it’s available.
⚠️ Please note
• We do not repair dangerous or hazardous items (no firearms, microwaves, nuclear reactors, etc.)
• Volunteers are skilled community repairers, not licensed specialists
• For highly specialized repairs (such as fine art restoration), we recommend contacting a professional
• You must remain with your item during the repair (this is not a drop-off/pick-up service)

Repair Café is part of a global movement that began in Amsterdam in 2009 and now includes 3,000+ Repair Cafés worldwide, focused on reducing waste, sharing repair skills, and strengthening community connection through hands-on learning.
The first Repair Café Charlotte launched in 2024, and we continue to grow with regular events at Innovation Barn throughout 2026.
