【演出音樂家介紹】
❑ PIANO / 許郁瑛 YuYing Hsu
許郁瑛是一位屢獲殊榮的台灣爵士鋼琴家、作曲家、編曲家、製作人和教育家,曾與Albert "Tootie" Heath、Michael Philip Mossman、台灣鼓王黃瑞豐等著名音樂家一起在世界各地的音樂節和爵士俱樂部演出。
近年來,她參與了多個跨領域音樂計劃,並以特邀藝人嘉賓身分參加亞洲流行天后張惠妹的ASMR世界巡迴演唱會。 2017 年的第三張創作專輯《HAPPENED, HAPPENING 現在》獲得第29屆金曲獎三個獎項的肯定;而隔年的《第三章:印度、義大利與我》一曲也榮獲第30屆金曲獎「演奏類最佳作曲人獎」。 最新的第五張個人專輯《In the Cave》則是融合了她的原創作品、即興鋼琴演奏和電子音樂,展現了她積極嘗試聲響冒險的一面。
An award-winning Taiwanese jazz pianist, composer, arranger, producer and educator, YuYing Hsu has performed in music festivals and legendary jazz clubs around the world with renowned musicians such as Albert "Tootie" Heath, John Riley, "Drum King of Taiwan" Rich Huang, Paquito D'Rivera, Michael Philip Mossman, Alex Sipiagin and Italian bassist Giuseppe Bassi. In recent years, she has participated in various cross-genre projects and has been invited as a featured artist to play at Taiwanese pop star A-MEI's ASMR World Tour Concerts.
In 2018, Hsu's third album "happened, happening" won three Golden Melody Awards for "Best Instrumental Album Producer", "Best Instrumental Album" and "Best Instrumental Recording Album". The following year, her original composition "CHAPTER III: INDIA, ITALY AND I" from her fourth album "PROJECT 3" also won the same prestigious award for "Best Instrumental Composer". Hsu has recently released her fifth solo album "In the Cave", a fusion of her original compositions, improvisational piano playing and electronic music that showcases her willingness to take risks and experiment with sound.
❑ TROMBONE / 詹姆士.麥寇雷 JAMES MACAULAY
居住在日本東京的澳洲長號演奏家和作曲家,曾於 2017年在澳洲Wangaratta爵士音樂節上獲得國家爵士樂獎,並於2019年參加了Anthony Braxton的 Sonic Genome計畫。
詹姆士曾在倫敦、波蘭、紐約以及日本和澳洲各地的爵士音樂節演出。他目前在澳洲和日本之間擁有數個音樂組合,包括他的長號五重奏、Happy Hoppy Orchestra、Hishakaku 四重奏及Lagerphones。
James Macaulay is a leading trombonist and composer from Australia living in Tokyo, Japan. In 2017 he won the National Jazz Award at the Wangaratta Jazz Festival in Australia, and in 2019 he participated in Anthony Braxton's Sonic Genome project in Berlin, Germany.
James has performed at jazz festivals from London, Poland to New York, and around Japan and Australia. He currently leads or co-leads various projects between Australia and Japan, including his Trombone Quintet, the Happy Hoppy Orchestra, Hishakaku Quartet and the Lagerphones.
❑ DOUBLE BASS / 須川崇志 TAKASHI SUGAWA
出生於日本群馬縣,須川崇志11 歲開始學習大提琴,18 歲開始演奏低音提琴。柏克萊音樂學院畢業之後移居紐約,師從著名鋼琴家菊地雅章。返回日本後,加入了日野皓正五重奏及渡邊貞夫四重奏。 他參與過東京和蒙特勒等國際爵士音樂節;近年來與演員金子愛合作,為她的戲劇作品《平家物語》即興演奏低音提琴獨奏。
2018年,須川崇志與Leo Genovese和Tom Rainey發行了首張專輯《Outgrowing》,而自己領軍的Banksia三重奏則已發行三張專輯,最新一張是 2023 年的《MASKS》。
Born in Gunma, Japan, Takashi Sugawa began playing cello at age 11 and contrabass at 18. After graduating from Berklee College of Music, he moved to New York and studied under the renowned pianist Masabumi Kikuchi. Upon returning to Japan, Takashi joined the Terumasa Hino Quintet and the Sadao Watanabe Quartet. He currently leads the Banksia Trio with Masaki Hayashi and Shun Ishiwaka, and performs with the Kosuke Mine Quartet, Tamaya Honda Trio, Michiyo Yagi Trio, Satoko Fujii Tokyo Trio, among many others.
Takashi has performed at numerous international jazz festivals such as Tokyo Jazz Festival and Montreux Jazz Festival. In recent years, he has collaborated with actor Ai Kaneko, performing improvised solo contrabass for her theater production "The Tale of the Heike".
In 2018, he released his debut album "Outgrowing" with Leo Genovese and Tom Rainey. His trio, Banksia, has released three albums, the latest being "MASKS" in 2023.
❑ DRUM / 韓家柏 GABRIEL HAHN
法裔德國職業音樂家、作曲家和教育家,擁有慕尼黑音樂學院爵士鼓文憑和德勒斯登音樂學院作曲/編曲碩士學位。 一開始以爵士音樂家的身份活躍在德國樂壇,韓家柏於2009年成為著名爵士人聲樂團 《New York Voices》的鼓手和打擊樂手,在歐洲和亞洲進行巡迴演出;同時以打擊樂手和背景歌手的身分與Roger Cicero、Howard Carpendale及 Max Mutzke等著名德國流行藝人一起演出。
韓家柏目前在台灣居住和工作,擔任鼓手、打擊樂手、教育家及亞洲聲樂節聯合藝術總監。
Gabriel Hahn is a French-German professional musician, composer and educator with a jazz drums diploma of the Music Conservatory of Munich and a composing/arranging master’s degree of the Music University of Dresden. Mainly working in the German music scene as a jazz musician since early age, Gabriel became drummer and body/vocal percussionist of the great vocal jazz group "New York Voices" in 2009, touring across Europe and Asia.
As a percussionist and background singer he also performed with famous German pop acts Roger Cicero, Howard Carpendale and Max Mutzke. He is also a singer of the program "Modern Tales" of the Brussels Vocal Project, which recently released their latest album with music written by John Hollenbeck for five singers and drums. Gabriel currently lives and works in Taiwan as a drummer, percussionist, educator and co-artistic director of the Vocal Asia Festival.
