[HU] Güner Künier, török-német elektro-punk énekesnő idén tavasszal turnéra indul Európában zenekarával, hogy bemutassa második albumát, a Yaramaz-t. Május 6-án először lép fel Budapesten, a Gólyában. Szintén vele utazik majd az Egg Idiot, a különc punkokból álló lipcsei társaság. Budapesten pedig a Lotti Bigotti csatlakozik hozzájuk, a város legújabb szintipunk szenzációja.
[EN] Turkish/German electro-punk singer and guitar player Güner Künier will be on the road with her band in Europe this spring, promoting her second album ‘Yaramaz’, and playing in Budapest for the first time on the 6th of May, in Gólya. Also travelling with her will be Egg Idiot, a company of weird punks from Leipzig. In Budapest they will be joined by Lotti Bigotti, the newest synth punk sensation of the town.

[HU] A „yaramaz” egy török szó; szó szerint lefordítva azt jelenti, hogy „semmirekellő”. A kifejezést gyakran használják a gyerekekkel szemben, amikor szemtelenek és lázadók. Güner Künier azért nevezte el második albumát „Yaramaz”-nak, hogy elmesélje saját felnőtté válásának történetét. A poszt-punk és a minimal/synth-wave a fő zenei hivatkozási pontok az albumon, de a riot grrrl, a shoegaze, a krautrock és a Velvet Undergroundra emlékeztető noir hangulat is felfedezhető rajta.
Güner Künier 1990-ben született a törökországi Izmirben, és hároméves korában költözött családjával Flensburgba, ahol fiatalkorát töltötte. Berlinben ipari mérnöki tanulmányai befejezése után teljesen a művészetnek szentelte magát így színésznőként és zenészként is dolgozott. Debütáló EP-je 2021-ben jelent meg, amelyet 2022-ben az „Aşk” című első albuma követett. Fellépett Németországban, Svájcban, Ausztriában, Hollandiában, Angliában és Macedóniában, többek között olyan fesztiválokon, mint az Eurosonic, a Reeperbahn és a PIN.
A „Yaramaz” március 21-én jelenik meg a Flirt 99 kiadónál.
[EN] "Yaramaz" is a Turkish word; translated literally, it means something like "good-for-nothing." The term is often used towards small children when they are being cheeky and rebellious. Güner Künier named her second album "Yaramaz" to tell her own coming-of-age story. Post-punk and minimal/synth-wave are the main musical reference points on the album, but there are also echoes of riot grrrl, shoegaze, krautrock, and a noir vibe reminiscent of Velvet Underground.
Güner Künier was born in Izmir, Turkey, in 1990 and moved at the age of three with her family to Flensburg, where she also grew up. After completing her studies in industrial engineering in Berlin she devoted herself entirely to art and worked as an actress and musician. Her debut EP was released in 2021, followed by her first album “Aşk” in 2022. She has performed in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands, England, and Macedonia, including at festivals such as Eurosonic, Reeperbahn, and PIN.
Yaramaz will be out on Flirt 99 on March 21st.

[EN] An enjoyable punk experience provided by a voice-using-human inside a rotting Egg-costume and his corpse-painted partners. And after your eyes have been blended till blindness, you start to realize that the music is nice too. Strange, serious, precisely-executed punk that just sounds like your play-button is stuck on fast forward.
