About this Event
This clinic is part of the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP), a collaboration between the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and community organizations. We, Toronto Hong Kong Parent Group, will hold this Tax Clinic on Saturday, 18 April 2026.
Our trained volunteers provide free tax preparation services for individuals with a modest income and a simple tax situation.

Time: 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM (7 sessions, 1 hour per session)
Location: East York Civic Centre, 850 Coxwell Ave, East York, ON M4C 5R1
Eligibility Requirements (CRA 2026 Updated)
To qualify for this free service, you must meet the modest income and simple tax situation requirements:
1. Modest Income Limits (Total Family Income):
1 Person: Up to $40,000 (Previously $35,000)
2 Persons (Couple): Up to $55,000 (Previously $45,000)
3 Persons: Up to $60,000
4 Persons: Up to $65,000
5 Persons: Up to $70,000
(Add $5,000 for each additional dependent)
Interest Income: Your total interest/investment income must be less than $1,200.
2. Simple Tax Situation:
We CANNOT prepare returns for individuals who:
Have self-employment income or business/professional income (unless Box 048 on T4A is under $1,000).
Have rental income.
Have capital gains or losses.
Have foreign property (T1135).
Have filed for bankruptcy.
Are filing for a deceased person.
What to Bring (Checklist)
Please ensure you have the following documents ready for your session:
Identification: Government-issued photo ID and Social Insurance Number (SIN) for all family members.
Last Year’s Return: A copy of your 2024 Notice of Assessment (NOA).
All 2025 Tax Slips (T-Slips): T4, T4A, T5, T5007, etc.
Receipts for Deductions/Credits:
Rent or Property Tax receipts.
Medical expense receipts.
Charitable donation receipts.
Childcare expense receipts (T778).
Tuition slips (T2202).
Direct Deposit Info: A void cheque or your bank account details.
How to Register
Spaces are limited (7 slots total). Please select your 1-hour time slot and register. One ticket per household/return.
