Smiðja: Nepalskir friðarfánar – skilaboð til jarðar á Listasafni Árnesinga23.apríl sumardagurinn fyrsti.

Í þessari skapandi smiðju kynnast börn töfrum nepalskra friðarfána og þeirri hugmynd að orð, myndir og litir geti borið óskir okkar út í heiminn. Í hefð Nepals eru fánarnir hengdir upp í náttúrunni þar sem vindurinn ber skilaboðin áfram – óskir um frið, samkennd og jafnvægi milli manns og jarðar. Smiðjan verður á Listasafni Árnesinga á sumardaginn fyrsta og í tilefni á degi jarðar sem deginum áður þann 22.apríl.
Börnin fá að hanna sína eigin friðarfána með teikningum, táknum og orðum sem endurspegla það sem þeim þykir mikilvægt: náttúruna, dýrin, jörðina, vináttu og framtíðina. Í gegnum leik og sköpun er fjallað um umhyggju fyrir umhverfinu, tengsl okkar við náttúruna og ábyrgðina sem við berum gagnvart jörðinni.
Smiðjan leggur áherslu á: sköpunargleði og sjálfstjáningu, vitund um náttúru og umhverfi, frið, samkennd og von, tengingu listar og náttúru.
Að lokum eru fánarnir hengdir upp saman – sem sameiginlegt listaverk og tákn um óskir barna til framtíðar jarðarinnar.

Workshop: Nepalese Prayer Flags – Messages to the Earth at Listasafn Árnesinga Museum
April 23 – First Day of Summer

In this creative workshop, children are introduced to the magic of Nepalese prayer flags and the idea that words, images, and colors can carry our wishes out into the world. In Nepalese tradition, prayer flags are hung in nature, where the wind carries their messages — wishes for peace, compassion, and balance between humans and the Earth.
The workshop takes place at the Listasafn Árnesinga on the First Day of Summer, in connection with Earth Day on April 22.
Children will design their own prayer flags using drawings, symbols, and words that reflect what matters most to them: nature, animals, the Earth, friendship, and the future. Through play and creative expression, the workshop explores care for the environment, our relationship with nature, and the responsibility we share for the planet.
The workshop emphasizes: creativity and self-expression, awareness of nature and the environment, peace, empathy, and hope, the connection between art and nature
At the end of the workshop, the flags are hung together as a collective artwork — a shared expression of children’s hopes for the future of the Earth.
