Zippers don’t have to be intimidating! In this beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to confidently sew zippers into your projects with clean, professional results. We’ll break down the process step by step, covering zipper types, tools and techniques that make installation easier than you ever thought possible.
You’ll practice installing zippers while learning tips to avoid puckering, misalignment and other common frustrations. By the end of the workshop, you’ll walk away with new skills, a finished sample and the confidence to add zippers to garments, bags and home décor projects.
Perfect for:
Beginner to early-intermediate sewists who want to build skills and overcome zipper fear.
Pre-requisite: you’ve completed any of our machine sewing skills workshops…..individual or the full series OR you have some experience using a sewing machine but haven’t yet tackled zippers.
You’ll learn:
• Proper marking, pinning, and pressing techniques
• How to sew common zippers into your project plus how to change out broken zippers for a new one
• Troubleshooting common problems
No prior zipper experience required—just bring your curiosity and willingness to practice!
