Welcome to Zine Nights!Zine Nights invite adults to gather and explore their creativity by creating and self-publishing a DIY magazine, also known as a zine. This series of programs will include in-gallery activations, musical performances, talks and an exhibition show-and-tell.
The second Zine Night will take place on Friday, July 12 and will include a zine-making workshop and an artist talk by Ho Tam, followed by a show-and-tell presented by Jonathan Middleton of Vancouver Art Book Fair.
Facilitated by the Gallery’s knowledgeable Art Educators and designed by artist Sonja Ahlers, this workshop will begin with a short zine demo. Participants are invited to create a small zine while mingling and listening to music.
Artist Ho Tam, whose work is on view in the exhibition Copy Machine Manifestos: Artists Who Make Zines, will give a short artist talk. He has also prepared a playlist for the evening.
All zine-making materials will be provided.
This event is free and offered on a drop-in basis. Advanced registration is recommended.
