The Silly Hearts Comedy Gala Fundraiser for the Detroit Creativity Project & Ruth Ellis Center
The Silly Hearts Comedy Gala Fundraiser is being put on by Ferndale local and stand up comedian Hailey Zureich, is celebrating her 40th birthday with the goal of raising $80,000 to split between two incredible causes.
The Detroit Creativity Project, is an organization on a mission to make sure all children in Detroit have the opportunity to succeed. They use improv training to transform how Detroit's young people view their potential at school and in life.
The Ruth Ellis Center, has been working hard since 1999, to create opportunities with LGBTQ+ young people to build their vision for a positive future. They provide an array of services, experiences, and support to LGBTQ+ youth and community members.Come out for a good time, to support great causes!
Friday May 22, 2026 at the world renown Magic Bag in Ferndale will host space for a star studded comedy showcase with other surprise delights all evening long.The show will open with a special burlesque inspired performance from the Vintage provocateur Leena Allure and classic curve Margaux Royale. Local stand up super stars - the brilliant Kim Turner, charming Nicole Melynk, exceptional Sam Rager, and tremendous Tam White.Our evening's headliner, Nina West, will be closing out the show!
Nina West rose to international prominence on the 11th season of "RuPaul's Drag Race", the recent "RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 9," he starred as Edna Turnbald in the national tour of Broadway's Hairspray The Musical, hosted an array of special events-74th Annual ACE Eddie Awards, Disney+ Pride Special, events at San Diego Comic-Con, and The Nina West Foundation, has raised over $3 million dollars for charities in central Ohio and around the world.
