About this Event
Each month we pick a cookbook, and you pick a recipe from that book that you want to try your hand at. On book club day, each attendee will bring a dish to pass, dinner party style. There are few things better in life than gathering in community over good food and even better conversation, and we can't wait to host you!
Our pick for May is Our South by Ashleigh Shanti. Our South is a vibrant celebration of Southern foodways rooted in Black, Indigenous, and Appalachian culinary traditions. Through deeply personal stories and inventive recipes, Shanti reclaims the South as a place of cultural exchange, resilience, and creativity. Both a cookbook and a cultural narrative, Our South invites readers to explore how history, identity, and flavor come together at the table.Pick up a copy in store, or visit our friends at the Ferndale Area District Library to check out a copy for the month.
Once registration fills up, we'll send out a follow-up email with a form for each attendee to fill out so we can ensure a wide range of recipes are brought to the literal and figurative table on the day of the event.
Tickets are $20, and you'll receive a $10 credit to use in store (valid on book club day only). Your ticket price includes free table wine, sparkling water, and the cozy dinner party atmosphere of your dreams.
