Program Plan
We will provide an 8 week intensive and impactful educational experience for aspiring braid and loc stylists. This program not only equips students with technical skills but also prepares them for successful careers through comprehensive education and practical experience. We are confident that this initiative will contribute significantly to workforce development and the economic empowerment of our community.
1. Comprehensive Education:
Books and Supplies: Every student will receive a list of required textbooks and supplies, ensuring they are well-equipped for both theoretical and practical learning.
Curriculum: Our curriculum is tailored to meet our students' needs and will include specialized modules on natural hair care, braiding techniques, and loc maintenance. Live online sessions will be held once a week to facilitate interactive learning. Students will have access to all recorded classes if they are not able to attend the live online sessions.

2. Practical Apprenticeships:
For students of working age, we offer optional paid apprenticeships after completion in established salons. These apprenticeships provide real-world experience, allowing students to apply their skills in a professional setting under the guidance of experienced stylists.
3. Live Online Sessions:
Live online classes will be conducted once a week with an additional day for group tutoring, offering a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical demonstrations. These sessions will ensure that students can engage directly with instructors and peers, enhancing their learning experience. All
4. Career & Entrepreneurial Support:
Resume and Interviewing Assistance: Comprehensive support in building professional resumes and preparing for job interviews. This service ensures that our graduates are job-ready and can effectively present their skills to potential employers.
Marketing and Business Skills: Students will receive training in essential marketing and business practices, equipping them with the knowledge to acquire and retain customers, manage their business finances, and promote their services effectively. We will build a website (additional cost to website host may apply) and set up thriving social media channels so students can start building their clientele.
6. Certifications:
Upon successful completion of the online portion of the course, students will receive certifications in natural hair, braiding, and locs. These certifications will serve as a testament to their expertise and enhance their credibility in the industry.
