About the book

When journalist Danielle Hooper goes to interview Jerzy Koslowski in a quiet residential neighborhood in Queens, NY, for her book on War World II, he takes a shot at her. Promptly arrested and held in the 112 th Police Precinct, he gets the attention of Homeland Security agent Sonia Sokolow and NYC Intelligence Bureau officer Frank Napoli. It seems elderly senior citizen Koslowski lied on his initial immigration application when he entered the United States from Poland after Second World War and is wanted for International War Crimes of which there is no statutory limit. Sonia has proof that he was a kapo at the work camp Buchenwald in Germany and collaborated with the SS. However, she now has only forty-eight hours to charge him with these crimes and find a country which she can deport him to that will try him. She must not only battle the time constraint but also Officer Napoli who believes that Koslowski, who is dying of stage four cancer, is not a priority of the U.S. government. He also believes that Sonia, who has a personal history with Koslowski, since both her parents survived Buchenwald, must recuse herself from the case despite her obsession in seeing justice prevail. Zaglada was developed in the PDW at the Actors Studio.
