About this Event
This two-day intensive is two half-days on Thursday and Friday, July 9 and 10, from 10AM to 2PM on each day.
Join DC Bird Alliance for a FREE Youth Wildlife Photography Workshop series designed for young people interested in creativity, nature, and storytelling.
Participants will explore some of DC’s most beautiful green spaces while learning the fundamentals of wildlife photography from DCBA's own seasoned professional photographers. Each session combines guided birding, hands-on camera work, and opportunities to capture your own images in the field.
All equipment is provided, so no prior experience or gear is needed. Lunch will be provided. Participants will also have the opportunity to save and take home their photographs, and are encouraged to bring a personal device (phone, tablet, or laptop) for downloading their images.
This program is ideal for students curious about photography, environmental science, or simply spending time outdoors in a creative and supportive space.
Must be DCPS or DC charter school student to register. Participants must be at least 14 years old. Parent or guardian permission is required for those under 18.
Workshop Photography Policy:
All images captured using DC Bird Alliance equipment are owned by DC Bird Alliance and may be used for educational and promotional purposes. Participants may download copies of their images for personal use at the conclusion of the workshop.
