About this Event
The SalisburySGRho Annual Youth Symposium, themed "Ctrl + Alt + Thrive: Resetting Mind, Money & Media," is a dynamic one-day event designed to empower local youth with the tools they need to navigate the modern world. Held as part of a nationwide initiative by Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., this symposium provides a safe space for middle and high school students to engage in interactive workshops and leadership activities.
Core Workshop Pillars
The 2026 Youth Symposium focuses on four critical areas of development:
- Mental Health: Emotional and Social Challenges This session focuses on "Resetting the Mind." Youth will explore strategies for managing stress, building self-esteem, and navigating the social pressures of the digital age. It provides a supportive environment to discuss mental well-being and resilience.
- AI and Youth: The Future of Innovation As part of the "Resetting Media" pillar, this workshop demystifies Artificial Intelligence. Students will learn how AI works, its impact on their future, and how they can use these emerging tools responsibly and creatively.
- Online Safety: Digital Awareness This segment focuses on "Resetting Media" through the lens of protection. It covers social media etiquette and practical tips for staying safe online, ensuring that youth are informed and cautious digital citizens.
- Financial Workshop: Building Wealth Early The "Resetting Money" pillar introduces students to financial literacy. Through hands on activities, participants learn the basics of budgeting, saving, and the importance of financial independence often referred to in SGRho circles as #WeeSaver or similar empowerment initiatives.
