About this Event

Pysanky is a traditional art of Ukraine. Egg decoration in Ukraine is widespread and practiced by many. The pysanka (Ukrainian: писанка, писанки (pl.)) itself, a wax-resist type egg, is one of Ukraine's national symbols, and is known throughout the world.

Originating as a pagan tradition, decorated eggs were absorbed by Christianity to become the traditional Easter Egg.
