Join us for an inspiring film launch to support the Safety of Women and Girls agenda and the Relationships Sex Ed curriculum.About this Event
With the support of West Yorkshire’s Mayor and the Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime, Bradford Council warmly invites teachers, school leaders, youth workers, and professionals working with young people to a special event showcasing a new series of co‑produced short films created by young people, for young people.
Kindly hosted at Norcroft Auditorium, University of Bradford, Bradford Council’s award‑winning Youth Ambassadors, in partnership with the Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (DASV) and Safety of Women and Girls teams, have created five powerful short films addressing key issues faced by girls and young women across our District.
Topics covered:
- Consent
- Online abuse
- Boundary violations
- Harassment
- Catcalling
These films encourage open, honest, youth‑led conversations that directly support safeguarding, wellbeing, and healthy‑relationships education.
Free Curriculum‑Aligned Resources
Alongside the films, Step2, our commissioned RSE provider, has worked with the Youth Ambassadors to develop free, ready‑to‑use resources for professionals. These include lesson plans and discussion guides aligned to the PSHE/RSE curriculum, making it easy to embed this work into classrooms and group settings.
Why Attend?
- Preview all five films before they are publicly released
- Receive the full suite of resources for use in your setting
- Hear directly from the Youth Ambassadors about their motivations
- Gain practical tools to support young people to understand, navigate, and challenge harmful behaviours
- Connect with peers and local services working to improve safety for women and girls
We hope to see you there.
