What:

We need your help raising $3500 to paint a new mural.

Why This Mural Exists:

{Mona}This mural was created as a reminder that every person’s world matters — especially children growing up in a time that often feels loud, rushed, and overwhelming.
I believe a simple message placed in the right moment can stay with someone for a lifetime.

Who:

Children's book author Mona Liza Santos has dreamed about a mural that features the positive affirmation, "Your World Matters" which features a diverse group of children, flowers and sunshine. Mona discovered San Diego Artist Kim Phillips-Pea through local news and the two have partnered to bring the mural to life.

Where:

The mural will be painted on the wall located on the outside of the Columbus Club of San Diego on the wall on the west side of the parking lot. Permission to paint the wall with the inspiring message was granted by the hall owner, Mr. John Stump.

Address: 4425 Home Avenue San Diego, Ca 92105

Why Donations Matter:
Donations support the creation, materials, installation, and long-term care of the mural, ensuring it remains a safe and uplifting presence for years to come.
By supporting this mural, you’re helping place kindness, emotional awareness, and belonging into the everyday lives of people who may need it most.
Thank you for believing that words can still change the world.

Donations Goal and Purpose:

We need to raise $3500 in order to complete the mural.

All donations received for the mural will be used to purchase supplies that will be used to complete the project, anti-grafitti sealant and maintenance for the lifetime of the mural.

How To Donate:

Use our Eventbrite page to donate the amount of your choice. Participating in painting the mural is not required to donate but is optional. The installation date will be provided at a later date.

Tribute to Donors:

All donors who contribute $100 or more names will be written on a designated location on the mural as a show of gratitude for making the mural possible.

Mural Installation Date:

Currently the mural installation date will be determined on the outcome of the fundraiser. All funds need to be raised before the project can begin.

Volunteer Opportunity:

Volunteers of all ages are welcome to participate in painting the mural. All supplies will be provided with instruction by the lead artist Kim. Please email: [email protected] if you would like to volunteer or donate supplies outside of a monetary contribution. All volunteers will be notified ahead of time regarding the mural installation date.

Agenda
Your World Matters Mural Installation
Host: Artist Kim Phillips-Pea

Info: The fundraiser begins January 26 and will run for 30-45 days based on if we meet the goal. Once we've met the goal, Kim will purchase supplies and schedule and install date. The install includes priming the wall, projecting the image, outlining the design the night before, setting up supplies on the morning of the install, prepping paint areas for volunteers, painting, breaking down the area and removing all paint related materials. A mural reveal will be scheduled to showcase the mural and participants. The mural will be added to the local mural database and checked regularly for vandalism. A portion of the donation will go towards maintenance for the lifetime of the mural.
