As a TV host and journalist, I get pitched constantly. And honestly? Most of them land in email limbo. Not because the business isn't great, not because the email wasn't professional, but because I can't find the person or the passion behind it. My viewers can't connect with a list of services, and frankly, neither can I.
We connect, with stories.
In the current climate of "storytelling" brand narratives get generated for an "About" page on a website and then are left to linger. I know because I've fallen victim to it myself and had to go digging for my own story to stand out.
In this talk I'm sharing what actually makes me stop, pay attention, and say yes, and here's the thing: it's the same quality that builds a brand people come back to, refer their friends to, and remember years from now. Your story isn't just a marketing tool or a hashtag. It's how you create longevity. It's how you build something that lasts beyond the next algorithm change or trend cycle.

About our Speaker:
Jana Angel has never had a traditional career path, she has a collage. A proud NC State University alumna with two degrees, Jana took an unconventional first step after graduation: a professional volleyball career in France, competing five seasons across Albi, Toulouse, Paris, and Bordeaux. It was there that she got the sign for her next move. Without any media training, she picked up her phone and started telling the stories of the women around her, capturing the person behind the jersey. That instinct to find the human story became the thread that would weave every chapter together.
Back in the U.S., she started in commercial production and media development, taking a litany of jobs to “learn the biz” honing her skills project by project and taking on more creative ownership with every role.In 2020 she founded Posh Theory Media in 2020, a concierge media company built on the belief that every brand has a story worth telling.As her eye for storytelling sharpened, so did her on-camera presence, leading her to hosting and producing for Trending Today on Fox Business, Living Local on Fox 29, and River City Live on News4JAX. Today, she anchors that journey as the host of QC Life and Coffee & Conversations on WBTV in Charlotte.
