About this Event
Have you ever wondered what it might look like to turn your love of cooking into a small food business?
Join Nancy Chang, who studied Holistic Nutrition at Bauman College, for a welcoming and creative workshop for anyone curious about sharing their food with the world.
Nancy will tell the story of starting her home-based soup business, Purpose & Hope, inspired by her mother’s cancer journey and her belief in the power of nourishing food. In 2021, she became one of the first people in Alameda County to receive a permit through California’s Microenterprise Home Kitchen Operations (MEHKO).
This free Merritt College workshop is a space to bring your ideas, dreams, and curiosity about food. Together, we’ll explore what it might look like to turn your passion into a small, home-based business, starting simply, experimenting with concepts, and learning from each other along the way.
You’ll also have a chance to connect with other aspiring food entrepreneurs who are imagining their own paths.
As a sweet bonus, we’ll make a quick and nourishing snack together—matcha green tea bites—to enjoy during the workshop.
