About this Event

A gentle walk for spring for young people (aged 18 to 30) to explore the birds that live in urban London! The morning is the perfect time not only to see but also to hear the chorus of our local birds. From redwing to jays to tufted ducks, there are plenty of birds to find. This walk will leave you with a better understanding of local wildlife, how to identify them and meet likeminded young people.


Key Information:

  • This is a free event as part of our community programming. Advance booking is essential as places are limited.
  • This walk will last up to 1.5 hours.
  • The walk starts at 10:00 (please arrive by 9:55 to get signed in


Access information:

  • We will stick to paths where possible but there may be times when the ground is uneven, muddy or wet.
  • Meeting point is at Station Square (near Crystal Palace train station)
  • Please wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for the weather: bring a waterproof jacket, sunscreen and a bottle of water with you on the day.
  • Public toilets are available in the Park near Penge Gate

About the walk leaders:

Şeniz: 'I am engagement lead, typically covering birds, insects, and mammals. This can stretch from engagement walks to training in identification and surveying, or to workshop leading. I have a background in ecology and conservation, and extensive experience in engagement work'

Akash: Urban Ecologist and Wildlife Storyteller
