About this Event
Yoga & Tea Tasting Event at Moonrise Space (Tribeca)
Join us in our brand-new Tribeca sanctuary for a curated journey into the senses. This collaborative event bridges the physical precision of yoga with the meditative art of aged tea, designed to harmonize the body's internal environment.
Part I: The Movement | Led by Jon Witt
Jon is a renowned yoga & movement teacher who has been teaching at NY Equinox and Pure Yoga NY for the past 15 years. He was one of the lead yoga teachers who helped build the Pure Yoga Hong Kong empire.
In this event, Jon will lead a movement practice focused on structural integration and the cultivation of “internal flow.” Much like a well-aged tea, this practice is designed to strip away the “harshness” of modern stress, leaving the body in a state of balanced resonance and open receptivity. All levels are welcome.
Part II: The Tea | Led by Timothy Hsu
Following the practice, guests will participate in a guided tea tasting led by Timothy Hsu. Drawing from his collecting, research, and public-facing service with Chinatown Soup, Tim will introduce a seven-cup aged tea sequence designed to invite clarity and restoration.
Topics explored during the session include:
- Origins & Terroir: How high-altitude environments shape the character of the leaf
- Brewing as Meditation: The ritual and mindfulness of Gongfu tea service for today’s drinker
- The Medicinal Benefit: Aged tea as a tool for metabolic and cellular maintenance
The tasting will feature aged Pu-erh tea served through a structured seven-cup sequence.
Welcome Tea: Served before class begins. Doors open at 10:45 AM.
Practice: Open to all levels, with a focus on breath and alignment.
Tea Tasting: Through a seven-cup tea reset sequence featuring our aged Pu-erh tea, designed to cleanse and balance the chakra system.
This is an intimate small-group experience with a maximum of 20 guests over the course of the two-hour event. Guests are welcome to attend either portion of the event or participate in the full experience.

Moonrise Space
Nestled beneath the cobblestone streets of Tribeca, Moonrise Space is unlike anything New York City has seen before. Visionary founder Jack Liang is transforming an 1840s tunnel into an 8,000-square-foot wellness sanctuary; a hidden world beneath the city, where history and healing meet.
Today, you are among the first to experience it.
While Moonrise Space is still in its final stages of renovation, the event space is complete and ready to receive you. Consider this more than just an event, it's a rare glimpse behind the curtain of something extraordinary, before the doors officially open to the world.
Join us for an afternoon that bridges the physical precision of yoga with the meditative art of aged tea, curated to harmonize your body, quiet your mind, and awaken your senses. This is wellness not as a destination, but as a discovery, and it's being built right beneath your feet.
Important Notes
The studio is currently wrapping up renovations. While some areas may still be unfinished, the event space itself is completed and ready to host guests. Please note that there will be stairs when entering the space, and the elevator may not be available during the event as construction is being finalized. You will also have the opportunity, as a special guest, to get a glimpse of the studio before its official opening.
We recommend having a good breakfast before attending and bringing light snacks, as the duration of the event may leave some guests wanting additional nourishment.
Waivers must be signed prior to attending the event.
Please fill out the interest form to help us confirm attendance and prepare the space accordingly. We look forward to welcoming and greeting everyone personally.
