About this Event
It's traditional to enjoy yourself during the intermediary days of Passover. To that end, the Congress for Jewish Culture will again be conducting a good old-fashioned and fun Yiddish 3rd seder for your enjoyment this year khol-hamoyed Peysekh on Sunday, April 5th at 12:30 PM in the Park Slope Jewish Center.
Those of you who know what we're talking about need no further explanation, and those who don't, you're in for a big treat!
We will read (and sing!) through a Yiddish hagode and enjoy a koshe lePeysekh milkhikn and fish smorgasbord with wine.
Please note: Yiddish is the language of this event! The hagode is in Yiddish and the program will be in Yiddish. Even if you don't "talk Jewish," don't worry - there will be English-language sign-posts to keep you looped in. Talk among yourselves in whatever language you like, but plan on hearing and humming in Yiddish!
Costs and Contributions
Admission is $65 per person, which is almost precisely our cost per person (not including uncompensated time and effort and volunteer food contributions).
So if you are at all able, add something on top of the base ticket price. The Congress can certainly use it to keep this event and all our work in the field of Yiddish going. We won't tell you how to give, but here are some ideas:
$360 Gantser Borekh-haShem
$180 Knaker (help bring a student!)
$120 Mekhutn (mish zikh arayn!)
$65 cover costs
Remember that your donation (ticket above $65) to the Congress for Jewish Culture, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, is tax deductible to the full extent permitted by law.
Space is limited, so please respond ASAP.
We must close reservations on the afternoon of Sunday 29 March -- and we anticipate that we'll be bursting at the seams, so order early!
