Managing Challenging Behaviour
This course is designed to equip youth workers with effective strategies and techniques to manage challenging behaviour in young people. Participants will develop a deeper understanding of the underlying causes of challenging behaviour, learn to identify and address potential triggers, and acquire practical skills for creating positive and supportive environments.

Course content

Identify and understand the underlying causes of challenging behaviour in young people.
Create positive and supportive environments for young people.
Recognize and address potential triggers for challenging behaviour.
Use effective communication and conflict resolution strategies.
Support young people with mental health challenges.
Practice self-care and build resilience.

About the trainer, Mike Collyer:

The training Mike delivers are rooted in theory and practice. Having been a youth work manager and face to face practitioner there is an understanding of what youth workers face but also a desire to embed theory into work with young people. Mike’s experience, from managing centre based, detached, and more targeted youth work as part of an multi agency exploitation team, means that the training delivered is full of real-life examples, creative, thought provoking and practical for your youth work practice.
