Explore science, engineering, and problem-solving in a fun and meaningful way!April STEAM Lab: Spin Into Weather!
Step into the role of meteorologists and discover the science behind wind and tornadoes. In this hands-on STEAM Lab, participants will build their own anemometers to measure wind speed and create mini tornadoes in jars to explore spinning vortexes. Kids will make predictions, take measurements, and observe air and water in action as science reveals the invisible forces shaping our weather.
Along the way, we will explore wind, air movement, and how tornadoes form. It is a whirlwind of science that is both fun and fascinating.
This free STEAM Lab at the Chino Valley Public Library, in partnership with Yavapai Exploration and Science, is designed for youth ages 5–12 and their families. The experience encourages curiosity, observation, and critical thinking and is perfect for young scientists who love to experiment and explore.
