The Young Ealing Foundation & Young Hammersmith & Fulham Foundation connect and equip grassroots youth charities, supporters and decision makers, to open up a brighter future for Ealing’s children and young people. Our objective is to support all our members to be resilient organisations, and this includes investing in relevant workforce development training. In 2025 partnership will be offering 8 FREE places on an in-person Level 2 Certificate in Youth Work Practice. Level 2 Certificate in Youth Work Practice is a JNC recognised qualification designed to strengthen and develop your current practice whilst offering valuable career development with national recognition ensuring a standard of good practice. The course will cover theory of youth work, safeguarding, group work within a youth work setting, communicating with young people, behaviour that challenges you, work-based practice, and reflective practices all within a youth work context.
Please note that due to limited places and the length of commitment we are asking all sign ups to pay a £100.00 deposit which will be refunded at the end of the programme. If this is a barrier for any organisation please do get in touch to discuss.
To be eligible an individual must work for a YEF or YHFF member organisation and you must:
- have the full agreement and support of your organisation and line manager – understanding that line managers will be required to complete evidence and provide opportunities to develop learning
- Consent from line manager and availability to attend all in person training sessions *dates below*
- Be currently engaged in face to face delivery with young people aged 11-25yrs (a minimum 1 session per week) and have been working alongside young people for 6 months previously.
- Have the appropriate enhanced DBS check for working with young people
- Commitment to completing self-directed learning ours to achieve the qualification assessment requirements
We will:
- cover the cost of the training and contribute a £500.00 organisation bursary to contribute to organisational support costs to reimburse additional expenses related to the training. This will be released upon the candidate completing the course.
- offer support where required and maintain regular communication with participants, organisations and trainer to ensure any challenges can be addressed and overcome.
