๐๐ฏ๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ ๐ผ๐๐ถ๐ฒ: This savagely funny satire about the inept patriarchy of West Africa comes from noted Senegalese filmmaker Ousmane Sembรจne (Black Girl, Mandabi), who adapts his own novel to screen. On the night of the wedding to his third wife, a corrupt politician is rendered impotent and believes one of his other two wives has placed a curse on him. Blending African folklore with popular cinema, XALA broke Senegalese box office records despite government censorship. In French and Wolof w/ subtitles.
