The Garden is going global! Join us for an incredible weekend featuring some of the best classic films from around the world. Running Friday, Oct. 10th - Sunday, Oct. 12th, we will be featuring films from 9 different countries. This inaugural weekend of international films includes beloved foreign classics like PLAYTIME, BICYCLE THIEVES, and METROPOLIS to rarely screened gems like Argentinian noir, NEVER OPEN THAT DOOR, or the West African satire, XALA.The festival continues on Saturday October 11th with an Italian Neorealist classic from 1948- BICYCLE THIEVES. 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲: A landmark Italian neorealist film, Vittorio De Sica's BICYCLE THIEVES tells the story of a man who is thrown into desperation and despair when his precious bicycle, the mode of transportation he relies on to arrive at a hard-won job, is stolen in post-World War II Rome. As he and his ten-year-old son search throughout the city, the film becomes an odyssey in which the two encounter the best and worst of humanity. In Italian w/ subtitles.
