About this Event
About this Event
Join WTS South Sound for a casual walking event focused on Tacoma’s evolving bike and pedestrian infrastructure and connections to transit!
We’re excited to be joined by Kristina Walker (Tacoma City Council, Pierce Transit Board of Commissioners, Sound Transit Board of Directors) and Liz Kaster (City of Tacoma), who will share insights and answer your questions along the route.
We will stroll along the J Street Neighborhood Greenway, seeing recent pedestrian and bicycle improvements up close and learning about what’s ahead. You will hear about Tacoma’s 2025 e-bike rebate pilot program, funded by the Department of Ecology with Climate Commitment Act funding, and how Tacoma is working to reduce barriers to using active transportation.
We will hop on the T Line back to 11th & MLK. Please bring your ORCA card or other fare payment. To wrap up, we’ll gather around 5:30pm at Huckleberry Club for informal networking—feel free to grab your own food and drinks and continue the conversation.
All are welcome! There’s no cost to attend—just bring your curiosity, ORCA card, and comfortable shoes. Please register in advance.
