About this Event
What do the owls know that we do not? Join us at Little Blue Pigeon Books for an evening of intentional writing, quiet creative energy, and good company — inspired by Polly Atkin's luminous nature memoir, .
"Filled with wonder, wisdom, and warmth … Her moving and meaningful observations and lyrical prose will stick with you for a long time."
— Sy Montgomery, author of The Soul of an Octopus
Longlisted for the 2025 Wainwright Prize in Nature Writing, The Company of Owls is a love letter to observation — to finding community in unexpected places, to listening amid noise, and to the particular clarity that comes from slowing down. It's the perfect companion for a night of writing.
This workshop is designed for anyone craving intentional time to slow down, reflect, meet new people, and put words to page. No pre-reading required — come exactly as you are.
- Guided writing prompts drawn from the themes of the book
- A stretch of uninterrupted writing time
- An optional, low-pressure sharing conversation to close
Whether you write every day or haven't picked up a journal in years, you are welcome here. Bring a notebook, your favorite pen, and a little curiosity.
