On August 22 Wreckless Strangers brings their signature “Bay Area Gumbo” sound to San Francisco Zoo Sunset Fridays an after-hours event for the whole family. Guests will enjoy live music outdoor bars kid-friendly activities ambassador animals and more. Visitors who have a general admission ticket for daytime Zoo access will be able to attend Sunset Fridays at no additional charge. This is a free event for members of the San Francisco Zoo & Gardens (membership card must be presented at entry).
Wreckless Strangers have been making waves with recent milestones including an artist spotlight at the prestigious NAMM music trade show the release of their critically acclaimed EP Blue Sky Fantasy and a spot on Music Connection Magazine’s Hot 100 for 2024. Currently Wreckless Strangers are back in the studio working on their forthcoming new album.

Their unique stew of Bay Area Gumbo melds the contemporary blues stylings of Bonnie Raitt and Boz Scaggs; the songwriting sensibilities of Sons of Champlin and Fleetwood Mac; the swashbuckling Americana of the Lost Planet Airmen and Peter Rowan; and the funk of Sly Stone and Tower of Power with a dash of Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane for flavor and unpredictability. With soaring vocal harmonies and burning instrumental improvisation framed in concise and poignant original songwriting Wreckless Strangers seek to honor and carry forth the brand of free-spirited musical fun and adventure that defines the Bay Area.
The band features Amber Morris on lead vocals; David Noble on lead guitar lead vocals; Joshua Zucker on bass vocals; Mick Hellman on drums vocals; Rob Anderson on guitar vocals; and special guest keyboardists.
