World of Wine Tasting: Argentina

As one of the world's largest wine producers, Argentina boasts a unique environment that blends tropical elements, high-altitude regions and desert landscapes. Our tasting will focus on Mendoza, a region at the foot of the Andes that holds the majority of wineries in the entire country, making it a top wine region. Specifically, we’ll be exploring wines from one of our hero producers Vinyes Ocults.

Vinyes ocults means “hidden vineyard” in Catalan, and while the sites Stahringer draws from might be concealed by poplar trees, it’s not much of a mystery why they turn out such superb wines. Hot days in the high desert help the grapes ripen fully, while cool nights lock in freshness.

At this two-hour tasting, we’ll take you through the icons, the rebels, and the hidden gems of Mendoza’s wine scene, with Vinyes Ocults leading the way — from the aromatic Torrontés of Tupungato in the foothills of the Andes to the bold Malbecs of the Uco Valley.

Tomás and our fantastic wine experts will be your guides, pouring five incredible wines, including a welcome drink from Vines Ocults, sharing stories from the winemaker, the unique terroirs, and the winemaking traditions that make these wines so iconic. So whether you’re a die-hard Malbec lover or just looking to expand your horizons beyond supermarket shelves, this event is for you.
