About this Event
The event will begin with a wine reception on arrival at 6pm, with the lecture starting at 6:30pm.
To mark WMF Britain’s 30th anniversary, we invite you to join us for a special lecture by WMF Britain Trustee Professor Sir David Cannadine. He will reflect on Paul Mellon’s remarkable life and legacy, and explore how Mellon’s enduring values continue to find expression through the work of World Monuments Fund today.
Paul Mellon (1907-1999) was one of the great transatlantic philanthropists of the 20th century: an American by birth, a Briton by instinct and education, and a collector whose generosity permanently reshaped cultural life on both sides of the Atlantic.
Please note, attendees should use the Burlington Gardens entrance to the RA, where on arrival you will be directed to the Marble Landing.
This event is free to attend. Donations to support the work of World Monuments Fund are very welcome.
