WORKSHOP with ÀNGEL DURAN

💥On Saturday 16th November 2024 from 10.00h to 14.00h, ÀNGEL DURAN will share an exciting workshop with us in FREEZONE! (📍Calle Santander 31, O8020 BARCELONA).

About the workshop :

This workshop explores movement within the engagement of the whole body. We work with coordination, association and improvisation tasks to guide our system to higher levels of body awareness and awaken new possibilities of movement and expression with the knowledge of simple tools.

Play and partner practice are important constants to use creativity and find new patterns. In this way, we will generate our own new languages. We will seek constant feedback through and within the practice with the group.

Furthermore, we will give importance to presence and focus on the natural theatricality within the movement.

A bit more about Àngel Duran :

Graduated in Dance from SEAD (Salzburg, Austria) and in Art and Design from the Universidad Autónoma of Barcelona, Duran has also trained as an actor in both Madrid and Barcelona. He has worked with various European choreographers and companies, such as Anton Lachky Company (Brussels), Milla Koistinen (Berlin), Stephan Herwigh (Munich), and DOT504 (Prague).

Simultaneously, he has taught workshops and classes for training programs and companies across Europe and America. He collaborates with the NGO Gambeta and conducts community workshops, particularly aimed at adolescents.

Since 2020, Duran has been developing his personal creative project under the name ANGEL DURAN Performing Arts. His work focuses on exploring the human condition through the investigation of body language, with a clear emphasis on new dramaturgy. Influenced by philosophy, theater, and cinematic language, Duran's work navigates the poetry of movement and emotional expression with the aim of connecting with the audience and inviting them into his unique imaginative world.

The company's productions have been showcased in Europe, Canada, and Latin America. He has received the MAX Award and the prestigious Butaca Award for Best Male Dance Performer. He has also won first prize at the Stuttgart International Solo Dance Festival (Germany), the prize at the Certamen Sólodos en Danza (Spain), the International Work Award at the Festival Quartiers Danses in Montreal (Canada), and a special mention at the CORTOINDANZA in Cagliari (Italy).

Sobre el taller :

Este taller explora el movimiento dentro del compromiso de todo el cuerpo. Trabajamos con tareas de coordinación, asociación e improvisación para guiar nuestro sistema a niveles superiores de conciencia corporal y despertar nuevas posibilidades de movimiento y expresión con el conocimiento de herramientas simples.

El juego y la práctica en pareja son importantes constantes para utilizar la creatividad y encontrar nuevos patrones. De esta forma, generaremos nuestros propios lenguajes nuevos. Buscaremos una retroalimentación constante a través y dentro de la práctica con el grupo.

Además, daremos importancia a la presencia y pondremos foco en la teatralidad natural dentro del movimiento.

Un poco mas sobre Àngel Duran :

Desde 2020, Duran desarrolla su proyecto creativo más personal bajo el nombre de ANGEL DURAN Performing Arts. Su trabajo se centra en la exploración de la condición humana a través de la investigación del lenguaje corporal, con una apuesta clara por la nueva dramaturgia. Influenciado por la filosofía, el teatro y el lenguaje cinematográfico, el trabajo de Duran navega por la poesía del movimiento y la expresión emocional con el objetivo de conectarse con el público e invitarle a su particular imaginario.

Las producciones de la compañía se han mostrado en Europa, Canadá y Latinoamérica. Ha recibido el premio MAX y el prestigioso premio Butaca al mejor intérprete de danza masculino. Ha recibido también el primer premio del Festival Internacional de Solos de Stuttgart (Alemania), el premio del certamen Sólodos en Danza (España), el premio de obra internacional del Festival Quartiers Danses de Montreal (Canadá) y una mención especial del CORTOINDANZA de Cagliari (Italia).
