About this Event

Discover 3D assemblages in the Collage and Ascending Galleries: 8+ by Eduard Zibnitski

This extended exhibition by collage and “assemblage” artist Eduard Zibnitski works alongside collages by gallery artists. Originally, eight of his works were featured in the second-floor Collage Gallery within the four-storey Gallery Arcturus. Now more creations are on view in the stairway Ascending Gallery as well as in the lower level studio.

Says Zibnitski about his work: "Never being completely serious, I feel fine with my art looking naïve, ugly or confusing; and too plain, or too rough sometimes too. But still, [a] feeling of mysterious presence is rather essential for me; it's what I try to achieve.”

Work by many artists in many media is regularly installed throughout the building -- after touring the Collage Gallery and adjacent Library please continue up to the third floor which includes the Photographic Gallery.

All installations are created by the curator in collaboration with her assistant Sae Kimura and collaborating artists.

Voyage through nine exhibit spaces from Tuesday to Saturday, 12 noon to 5:30pm:

  • The Genesis Gallery: two rooms make up the main-floor exhibit space: sculptures in fabric, wood, stone and paper: https://arcturus.ca/genesis/
  • Up North Gallery: https://arcturus.ca/north/ works from near and far north
  • Ascending Gallery: mobile sculptures, paintings, pastels
  • Collage Gallery: rotating works, many created in our studio
  • The Library: Floyd Kuptana sculpture from the permanent collection + an indoor garden
  • The Dark Room: changing work in a sensory space
  • The Drawing Room: by Hanequand, Kassian & Sapp
  • The Studio and Book Shop: please visit the lower level [the washroom is here]
