Join the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council (WRWC) and the City of Providence for the official ribbon cutting celebration of the Woonasquatucket River Greenway Project on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM. The ceremony will take place at Farm Fresh Rhode Island, 10 Sims Avenue, Providence, RI.This exciting community celebration marks the completion of a transformative new section of riverfront greenway along Kinsley Avenue and Promenade Street, creating safer and more accessible connections for walking, biking, paddling, and recreation along the Woonasquatucket River.
The project features a one-mile multi-use trail, public pocket parks, kayak launches, native landscaping, wayfinding signage, and green infrastructure designed to improve water quality and strengthen climate resilience in Providence.
