A handful of soft wool fibres, delicate strands of colourful silk, and scraps of yarn come together with water, soap, and a spark of imagination. In the spontaneous process of wet felting, these elements entwine and transform, fusing in beautifully unpredictable ways guided by their own quiet whim.
Wool and Whim: Spontaneity in Fibre celebrates the rich textures and boundless possibilities of felt. This exhibition by the Mitcham Felters presents a diverse collection of handcrafted works created using both traditional and contemporary felting techniques. From sculptural forms to wearable and decorative pieces, each work reflects the skill, creativity, and shared passion of this dedicated group of textile artists.
Exhibition concludes on Friday 17 July at 4 pm.
