This is a great way to dispose and recycle unwanted items when cleaning up your garage, your yard, and your home. The collection site will be at the Kiwanis Field parking lot at Woods Park, off J St.We are accepting the following items:
Old furniture, including mattresses and box springs.
Metal and household appliances (washers, dryers, stoves, refrigerators, grills, etc.), which will be delivered to Alter Metal for recycling.
Tires (tires mounted on rims are not accepted), which will be taken to Firestone Complete Auto Care at 300 N 66th St. to be recycled.
Items that CANNOT be accepted: trash, leaves, grass clippings, liquids of any kind (including paint, thinners, stains), ammunition/explosives LP gas cylinders, CRT televisions, and CRT computer monitors.
Many volunteers are needed to make this event a success. Please consider helping for a few hours by helping unload, direct traffic, or sort drop-offs. Refuse hauling is provided by Niederhaus Refuse Services.
