About this Event
Confidence. Safety. Empowerment.
This isn’t a “look cool” class. This is real-life, practical self-defense—simple, effective skills designed to work under pressure, no matter your size, age, or fitness level.
In this 90-minute, women-only seminar, you’ll learn how to:
- Spot danger early and avoid it before it starts
- Break free from grabs, holds, and chokes
- Use your voice and body language to deter threats
- Strike with power—even if you’ve never trained before
- Defend yourself from the ground if knocked down
- Turn everyday objects into tools for self-protection
The seminar will be led by Tarah Hayes, one of Oklahoma’s first female Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts and an experienced instructor who has spent years helping students build real confidence, awareness, and practical self-defense skills in a supportive environment.
Our approach is beginner-friendly but grounded in the same principles we teach to law enforcement and self-defense professionals. You’ll practice with supportive partners in a safe, encouraging environment—while getting a surprising workout in the process!
You do NOT need to be strong, flexible, or athletic to benefit from this seminar. Every technique is adaptable to your ability level, so you leave feeling confident and capable—not bruised and confused.
After the seminar, there will be an optional 30-minute conditioning session for anyone wanting an extra challenge or looking to ease back into fitness. Expect a beginner-friendly workout focused on functional movement, endurance, and building confidence—not intimidation. Participate at your own pace and leave feeling stronger than when you walked in.
