Women’s History Month: Nigerian Cookery with Toyin’s Kitchen — FREE
Date/Time: Thu 12 March, 1:00pm–3:00pm
Location: Health Defence Organics CIC, 132a King Street, Hammersmith, London W6 0QU
Cost: FREE (booking required)
In many Nigerian homes, food knowledge is passed down through women — mothers, aunties, grandmothers — as a living archive of culture, care and community.
For Women’s History Month, we’re welcoming Toyin’s Kitchen to celebrate that lineage and spotlight women-led food traditions in our community.
Toyin will guide us through a relaxed cookery demonstration and tasting, exploring:
- Egusi soup — a classic, deeply nourishing staple with layers of flavour
- Pounded yam — a much-loved accompaniment and centrepiece of the table
- Puff-Puff — the iconic sweet snack with a big place in family and street-food culture
Expect a warm, friendly session with story, learning, questions encouraged, and of course tasting.
FREE event — booking required.
