This International Women's Day: You have the right to take up space on the planet!Join us for an engaging and surprisingly fun session that will help you feel safer and more confident in managing your boundaries and personal safety.
Sharpen your skills for spotting potential threats and taking action to avoid or prevent physical violence. We will also work on how to use physical force to break away when we don't have other options. Our goal is for women to leave feeling empowered and more confident in their own strength and abilities!
This workshop will be a mix of physical and non-physical training, expect about 50/50 of each.
Some of the topics we will cover:
-Boundary setting
-Situational awareness
-Dealing with grabs and holds
-Defending against strikes
-Instinctive responses, including the freeze response
-How to generate power and aim for vulnerable points
Teaching the workshop will be Linn Haraldsvik, KMG Expert Level 2 and Head Instructor at Rencounter, and certified Women’s Self Defence Instructor with 500 Rising.
No questions asked concession. We want to make this workshop accessible to as many as possible who need these skills. We hope that if you can afford to pay the full price, you will support the work that we do.
Equipment
You don’t need any equipment to take part: wear clothes that you are comfortable to move around in, and bring a bottle of water.
