About this Event

Celebrate the art of storytelling at this special Women’s Fiction Writers Book Fair, hosted in at Morrison House with the Women’s Fiction Writers Association on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 1–4 PM.

In honor of Independent Bookstore Day, this curated literary gathering brings together talented women authors for an afternoon of book signings, readings, and meaningful conversation. Guests are invited to browse a diverse collection of contemporary women’s fiction, meet the writers behind the stories, and immerse themselves in a vibrant community that champions independent voices and the power of the written word.

Attendees must secure a $5.00 timed entry ticket to explore the book fair! Walk-ins and at door sales will not be available. We ask that you arrive within your 30 minute entry window and are free to enjoy as long as you'd like! Your entry fee will be donated fully to the Virginia Library Association to support local libraries and librarians!

MEET THE AUTHORS

Amanda Gale | A former English teacher and copy editor, Amanda Gale writes about the vulnerabilities and strengths of imperfect women at different stages of life. Her character-driven stories are inspired by the relationships, self-discovery, and small moments that shape us all. Amanda lives with her family in Philadelphia, where she enjoys history, art museums, and quiet cups of tea.

Beth Anne Hill | Beth Anne Hill is a writer and educator with an affinity for Southern historical and women’s fiction. Her short stories are part of the Feisty Deeds historical fiction anthologies. Her prose has been featured on the Tennessee Valley’s longtime radio show, The Sundial Writers Corner. Beth Anne shares her home with her husband, Goddaughter, and playful fur-babies.

Brenda Haas | Brenda Haas is the award-winning author of Finding Sutton’s Choice, a debut Lake Erie novel about second chances. It earned a Literary Titan Gold Book Award, two International Impact Book Awards (Women's Fiction and Aging categories), and a PenCraft Best Book Award for Fiction. A magazine feature writer, speaker, and regional photographer, Haas spent many years as a reporter for a Pittsburgh press.

Dawn (D.W.) Hogan | Dawn (D.W.) Hogan majored in English at the University of Alabama. Her debut historical fiction, Unbroken Bonds, was published in 2021. Her second novel, a psychological thriller, Intentionally, launched in May 2025. A full-time author, Dawn lives with her husband in Huntsville, AL.

Debbie Abbott | Debbie Abbott is a brain tumor survivor; her journey instilled a powerful understanding of resilience, faith over fear, and healing through positive energy and spiritual connection. The Angels’ Gauntlet series is a metaphysical soul story based on her own experiences with Light and Dark energy. Debbie lives in Arizona with her husband, three dogs, and Beverly—her guardian angel.

Della Leavitt | After careers in tech and mathematics education, Chicagoan Della Leavitt studied creative writing amid the vibrant Midwestern writing community. Her debut historical novel, Vivian's Decision, takes place in 1956—at a time when women had limited control over childbearing.

Gabi Coatsworth | Gabi Coatsworth is an award-winning British-born author, living in a Connecticut cottage. Her first novel, A Beginner’s Guide to Starting Over features a lovable ghost, as does her second, A Field Guide to Library Ghosts. When not writing or traveling, she runs groups for writers in Connecticut.

Grace Santamaria | Grace Santamaria is a Colombian American author of contemporary fiction who writes stories about Latinas making bold moves and rising to life’s challenges. Her debut novel, Sea Salt and Coffee Beans, blends office drama, immigration struggles, messy family dynamics, and plenty of romance.

Jennifer Marra | The Days Between is Jennifer Marra’s debut novel. Her creative nonfiction has appeared in literary journals including The Forge and Wanderlust. She writes and constructs crossword puzzles, regularly published in major newspapers, and appearing in The Atlantic. Jennifer lives in Texas, with frequent escapes to Connecticut.

Julie Mayerson Brown | Julie Mayerson Brown is an author, essayist, and playwright. Her Clearwater Series takes place in a charming California Wine Country town. She also writes book club fiction that delves into darker themes of family dysfunction, betrayal, and suspense. Julie lives in Los Angeles with her family and rescued boxers (dogs, not underwear).

Kathleen Barber | Author of Follow Me, and Both Things Are True, Kathleen Barber is a certified book coach and former attorney. Her novel Truth Be Told won the WFWA Debut STAR Award and was adapted as an AppleTV+ series by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine media company. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband and children.

Kathryn Brown Ramsperger | An award-winning novelist, Kathryn Brown Ramsperger began her writing career as a journalist, moved on to be an international humanitarian reporter, then landed as a book and mindset coach. Her work is about the search for identity and empowerment, set in the humanitarian world ... and informed by the courageous people she meets as she travels.

Kimberly Sullivan | Award-winning author of six novels and one short story collection, Kimberly Sullivan is also co-editor of the Feisty Deeds anthologies. She writes both contemporary and historic tales of women and the rich lives they lead along their journeys of self-discovery. A lifetime admirer and longtime resident of Italy, she's often guilty of sneaking the Bel paese into her stories.

Lainey Cameron | An Amazon #1 bestseller in feminist books, Lainey Cameron’s novel The Exit Strategy won 15 book awards. The story was inspired by a decade of being the only woman in the corporate boardroom. She hosts the Best of Book Marketing podcast, and teaches authors through her “12 Weeks to Book Launch Success” program. Originally from Scotland, Lainey has a soft spot for kilts, good single malt, and her adopted shelter husky.

Laura Drake | Laura Drake is a hybrid author of 16 novels, in the Romance, Women’s Fiction, and Thriller genres. Her debut, The Sweet Spot, won the Romance Writers of America® RITA® award. A city girl turned Texan, Laura is a wife, grandmother, and motorcycle chick. A founder of Women’s Fiction Writers Association, she is the 2026 Guiding Scribe.

Lisa Binsfeld | Lisa Binsfeld writes witty, character-driven book club fiction about the struggles faced by contemporary women. Her novels explore family dynamics and complex relationships in plotlines that are both humorous and heartfelt. A Hoosier by birth, Lisa graduated from Indiana University before moving to Phoenix where she and her husband raised three pretty remarkable kids.

Michele Levy | Michele Levy is a lifelong student of the 'wandering' spirit who also holds a PhD in Comparative Literature (English, French, Russian). In 2002, she was recognized for her writing on Balkan history and culture with an invitation to the region by the Serbian Writers' Association. Michele also writes poetry and plays the piano when she's not spending time with her seven grandchildren.

Nanette Littlestone | Editor, publisher, and award-winning novelist, Nanette Littlestone believes in happily ever after. Her stories about love and forgiveness explore the struggles and heart-wrenching decisions we make, as well as the joy, delight, and happiness when we embrace our dreams. Nanette lives in Atlanta, GA but still calls California home.
