Women's Endowment Fund Annual Celebration

Enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres, beverages and an unforgettable program at the 2024 Women's Endowment Fund signature event, "For Women, Forever." This year's celebration, held at House Three Thirty, will be hosted by emcee Sara Shookman, a career journalist and the founder of Storyglow Studio.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for networking, heavy hors d'oeuvres and entertainment by pianist Theron Brown. The main program, including the 2024 grants announcement, keynote address, and presentation of the 2024 Judith A. Read Tribute Award, will begin at 7 p.m.

The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Lindsay Kite and Dr. Lexie Kite. Identical twins, co-directors of the nonprofit Beauty Redefined, and co-authors of the book "More Than a Body: Your Body Is an Instrument, Not an Ornament," both received PhDs from the University of Utah in the study of female body image. Since 2009, Lindsay and Lexie have helped girls and women recognize and reject the harmful effects of objectification in their lives through activism.

Following the keynote, the fund will honor Barb Greene with the 2024 Judith A. Read Tribute Award for Service & Advocacy for Women. Barb is the founder and former principal consultant of CommonGood Consulting Inc., an organization that provides services to nonprofit organizations. Prior to establishing CommonGood Consulting in 2002, Barb served as the first president and executive director of Summit Education Initiative in Summit County. She has received a Woman of Achievement Award from the YWCA and a Women of Power Award from the Akron Urban League, where she currently serves on the board.
