About this Event

ABOUT WOMEN SING EAST

WOMEN SING EAST is a vibrant women's community choir based in Tower Hamlets led by charismatic singer and experienced vocal leader, Fiona Hymns and supported by talented accompanist Dan Chappell. We sing songs from a wide range of musical genres including pop, jazz, folk, world and classical. We are open to all women, offer free taster sessions, don't hold auditions - and welcome new members.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

Our concert will take you on a voyage of exploration featuring uplifting songs about seafaring, train travel, rambling, rivers and even flight to the next life. But while we relish escape and adventure, we yearn for home and our programme includes bittersweet songs about the heartbreak of being far from the people and places that we love. We look forward to sharing with you a range of songs from many traditions – gospel, classical, pop and folk – which will transport you away and bring you home.

The bar will be open in the Lounge from 18:00 where you can enjoy drinks and nibbles.

Chapel doors open at 19:00 and the performance runs from 19.30 to 20.30.

The bar will be open after the performance until 21.00.

We have bedrooms available to book for the night before or after the concert.

Please book at www.rfsk.org.uk
