Our mission
As the tech and sports industries grow in importance and influence, women remain heavily underrepresented—to the detriment of all.
The Women in Sports Data initiative aims to amplify women's voices in sports analytics across the technical spectrum and to foster community through a one-day symposium featuring incredible women working in technical roles in professional sports.
In addition the symposium, we hold a virtual project-based data hackathon open to women and non-binary individuals who have never been employed full-time in professional sports. This year's competition features 18 games of basketball tracking data from the 2022 NBA Playoffs. The hackathon takes place in the summer over a six-week sprint and culminates with the top three teams presenting at the symposium to compete for $10,000 in cash prizes.
Our vision
