Join us for our first event on the 20th April in our 'Women in Leadership' series.
About this Event

This series of events is an opportunity to hear from a panel of leaders who discuss the experience of working in a particular industry or sector. It's a series that open to all, regardless of gender, as a way to push forward discussions relating to support, collaboration and empowerment of women.

The first event in our series will be focusing on EY (Ernst and Young). EY is a British multinational professional services network. Along with Deloitte, KPMG and PwC, it is one of the Big Four professional services firms. A panel of speakers from EY will provide an opportunity for attendees to hear more about the company but also experiences from the perspective of women, leaders, and women in leadership.

Join Silviya Petrova-Lewin, Change and Transformation Manager and proud YSJ alumna, and some of her colleagues for an insightful and practical discussion on leading as a woman, building confidence, and managing the realities of everyday professional life.

Welcome reception, with coffee and tea, will start from 5pm-5.30pm in the De Grey foyer, with the panel to commence at 5.30pm in the De Grey lecture theatre. The talk will finish at 7pm at the latest, when attendees are welcome to join members of the panel for a glass of wine at an after-event networking session.

Events Access & Inclusivity

Please contact us as soon as possible (ideally at least 3 weeks before the date of the event) if you require either BSL interpretation or captioning. We will try our best but cannot guarantee provision.

Freedom of speech within the law and academic freedom are core principles of our University and underpin our mission to foster intellectual curiosity, rigorous debate, and the pursuit of knowledge. Our staff / students / SU colleagues are entitled to express their ideas and views, providing they do not violate the law. The law rightly prohibits speech that incites violence, terrorism and hate, but does not prohibit speech that others may find upsetting or offensive.

As a University that embodies social justice, we expect people to treat each other with dignity and respect, but it is not our role to censor ways of thinking or stifle debate between those who hold opposing views.

We understand that it can be frustrating to face views and perspectives that do not reflect our inclusive ethos at York St John University. However, we will not take disciplinary action against staff or students for lawful expression of their views, regardless of petitions, media campaigns or other external pressures.
