About this Event
Womanist Ruminations on Redemptive Self-Love | I'm Speaking Luncheon
Metropolitan Baptist Church invites guests from the academic community, local institutions, and the surrounding community to attend Lecture 2: “I’m Speaking,” presented by Dr. Christy Woodbury-Moore.
Black women’s literary tradition serves as testimony to the real-lived experiences of Black women, Black men, and the broader Black community. Through storytelling, scholarship, and reflection, this lecture will explore how Black women’s voices have documented truth, challenged harmful myths about Black life, and invited readers into the ebbs and flows of surviving and thriving as marginalized peoples.
Following the lecture, guests are invited to join us for a luncheon and time of fellowship.
Please note: Registration through this page is primarily to help us prepare for the luncheon portion of the event, including seating and catering arrangements. Please RSVP by March 20.
We look forward to welcoming you for an afternoon of thoughtful dialogue and community.
