About this Event

Join Nashville PBS for a free preview screening of Made in the West, our new co-production with Wyoming PBS about American functional art in the American West and the tradition of passing skills from one generation of craftspeople to the next.

The event begins with a reception, followed by the documentary screening. Afterward there will be a discussion with coppersmith/silversmith Ben Caldwell and sculptor/woodworker Brad Sells, two artisans featured in the film. Harris Haston, chairman of the nonprofit By Western Hands, will moderate this conversation about functional art as a viable career path for young people.

Made in the West is made possible by Carlene Lebous, Thomas Elizabeth Grainger Family Charitable Trust, Naoma Tate,AllianceBernstein, State of Wyoming by and through the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund, Scott and Carolyn Heppel, Rocky Mountain Power Foundation, and First Horizon Foundation.
