About this Event
About the Workshop:
The holidays can bring about complex feelings of loneliness, sadness, and fatigue—often magnified by the cold and darker months. Winter Blues: A Somatic Workshop invites you to come together with others in community to explore and process these emotions through somatic practices and movement.
In this two-hour workshop, we will work through the subtle and sometimes unspoken impact of the holiday blues, exploring how grief, loneliness, and emotional overwhelm show up in our bodies. Together, we will tap into body awareness to help release these feelings and discover how we can resource ourselves during this time.
What You'll Experience:
- Grounding Meditation: Begin with a calming practice to center ourselves and set intentions for the session.
- Holiday Blues Exploration: Discuss the emotional and physical impact of the holidays, offering space to acknowledge and normalize feelings of loneliness or sadness.
- Somatic Movement: Engage in gentle movement designed to connect with and release tension in the body, helping to process and shift emotional energy.
- Body Awareness Practice: Tune into your body's sensations, noticing where grief, loneliness, or heaviness may reside, and learn tools to manage these emotions with compassion.
- Reflection & Sharing: Journal and optionally share your experiences, creating space to honor your feelings and integrate healing insights.
What to Bring:
- A journal
- A grounding item (such as a blanket, crystal, or something comforting)
- An open heart
